Monday, December 26, 2011 - Consumed over two days, and decanted for three plus hours on day one. A very interesting and much changing wine indeed. Initial flavors were of green olives and strong mints, almost eucalyptus-like with a blackberry undertone. As it opened though all were replaced with a stong petrol component, and a tarry taste. It was more offputting than it was complimentary. The last of the wine that was tasted on day two didn't show this petrol flavor and was very enjoyable, with black cherries and sweet prunes throughout. The future evolvement of this version of the Don should definitely prove to be interesting for those with multiple bottles.
