Monday, May 18, 2015 - This is drinking like Amarone more than Pinot. Very dark in color for a wine this age. Mature nose with a good dose of oak. Before decanting, alcohol is overwhelming. Very potent wine. There's also overripeness, as there are some prune notes along with some sweetness on the midpalate. It felt like drinking port. If you like ripasso, you'll love this wine.
