Sunday, January 21, 2024 - A good representative for entry level grand marque champagne, hitting a similar price point to the Dehours to really show what you can get for the money in Champagne if you go the grower path. Not a bad wine here by any stretch — in fact, the acidity is surprisingly high and pleasant here. Mostly fruit forward with little to no yeasty or autolytic notes to be found. There is some chalky minerality here, which I appreciate. Dosage feels a touch high to me, but it’s probably a good crowd pleaser. Not much complexity here, but wouldn’t expect it given the size of production and what I’d imagine is shorter lees aging. 88pts.
