Tuesday, March 5, 2024 - Really pretty and already very expressive, with a surprising amount of forward fruit - slightly candied red cherry, almost maraschino cherry, alongside rose petals, a bit of amaro, and crunchy wild berry acidity all over the nose and palate. The only detractor here is that the tannins are really gritty- it could use a couple of years to integrate a bit, but I think it'll be just fine if drank with a rich meal (unfortunately, we shared this all by itself- I don't usually love when a wine *needs* food to show properly, but there it is.) I *might* be underrating it slightly for the price, and I'm curious to try his Barbaresco.
