Beautiful, rich medium gold color. Rich and autolytic on the nose, with lots of toast and yeast and brown sugar. The fruit is deep and round, fresh red and baked apples, with a little lemon citrus. And plenty of chalk in the background. Smooth and supple on the palate, the flavor profile mostly mirroring that of the nose. Quite generous, but maybe just a bit higher dosage than I would prefer. A slight lack of freshness and slight lack of energy in terms of the mousse makes me think I may have held this one a bit too long. But the mousse is very fine and lasts quite well in the glass. Good length on the finish, which is where the chalkiness comes out to help reduce the perception of sweetness.
