Monday, February 28, 2022 - This was a newer release than the previous bottle of this wine we had the other day (2019 disgorgement vs 2014), and a much less successful champagne in my book. I don't think it is just the extra age that gives the older one so much more extract and depth, but the raw materials were just better I fear. The 2019 disgorgement doesn't have same nutty yeasty notes or depth of fruit and citrus, but instead comes across as a bit flabby, with dosage a bit high for my palate. I'm going to see if I can score some more of the older bottlings collecting dust in our local mom and pop wine shop pronto ...
