Thursday, September 14, 2023 - Method: from store to freezer for 40 minutes; pop and pour; white wine glass

Look: medium straw

Nose: explosive ripe peach, fresh ginger, light minerality; very expressive

Palate: peach, apricot, Meyer lemon, slate, table salt, ginger; medium- finish lemon / Lemonheads, salt, ginger, light minerality; medium (almost medium+) sweetness; medium- body; light effervescence; high acidity

Overall thoughts: Wow! This is my first wine of this vintage and I'm very pleasantly surprised. Gorgeous ripe fruit with the usual spice and some salinity in this cuvee, but still a lot of wonderful acidity, which ceates the tension I chase. I'd expect the warm vintage to produce a bigger wine, but while this is as lithe as '21 (from memory), it's still a rather elegant Spatlese. Excellent wine!
