Friday, December 8, 2017 - Brian + Sylvia, Pre-Wedding Dinner (Lot 80, Margaret River): I had quite forgotten having had this before. Again, this was a lovely polished showing. The nose showed little notes of cream, a whiff of apple flesh and a nice yeasty afternote. The palate was really fresh and lively - with a fine effervescent mousse and laser-like acidity lending the wine a lovely definition and tension that went very well with its otherwise soft, white-fruited character. The finish was decent too, with just a lovely line of mineral and spice trailing away on the back-palate. Still young, fairly simple, but this was a really nice NV with the bones to age beautifully.
