For the first two hours after decanting, the tannins were extremely prominent, and the wine seemed quite hot. Later, however, it softened to reveal notes of plum, lavender, cedar. Not as earthy as some Bordeaux. Quite fruit-forward after the tannins dissipate. I bought and opened one bottle of this to try it before buying a larger volume. I likely will buy more, but it will stay in the cellar awhile before it makes another appearance.
