Sunday, February 8, 2015 - I really liked this wine when I opened previous bottles, and it has been a while since I opened one.
As usual, poured a bit in to a glass, and venturried a bit into a decanter to do a mini comparison to see how much aeration helps.
A huge difference, both had some bottle funk (bret-like), but aerated was significantly better, and needed.
I actually venturried it twice, and it still needed time to get back to my happy place.
A nice purple color, fine sediment adhering to the bottle. Some Red fruit, but more Forrest floor with hints of cedar. This was a little lighter in the tannins than I remember, still a nice smooth drinker for the less complicated meals, DECANT !
