Friday, July 28, 2023 - Quite young, it took a bunch of heavy swirling, after pouring through the aerator, before it came around. This is why we so much like Alexander Valley Cabernet. The color has redness to the purple. The nose is very oaky, hiding some dark cherry and ripe red raspberry. After it opens up, the palate has a slight green garden influence with charcoal, evergreen and cedar. Not really ready yet the fruit is hiding behind the oak. Civilized tannins. Balanced. Has a maraschino cherry flavor on the finish.
