Wednesday, May 18, 2011 - Opened, but not decanted, 3 hours prior to pour. Still dark purple. Nose, at first, mostly cassis and earth. By second glass, beautiful sweet cherry with anise and earth on a non-expansive nose. Heavy sediment. Good thing bottle was stood up for 2 days before bringing to BYOB. On the palate, light tannin which disappeared by second glass. Blackberry, earth and some minerality on a balanced palate. Still looking for some more fruit in this wine. Just an impression, but 5 more years before the next one might be just right for this wine.
