Wednesday, September 18, 2013 - This is a true beauty! No decant, about 4 hours slow areation, this gem opened up surprisingly well. Certainly its youthful, but seems like it's getting ready to spread its wings. Crimson red core, with just a touch of lightening on the rim, long legs. The bouquet is packed with cassis, floral, spice, dark / blue fruits, pencil lead shavings, tobacco, vanilla and green pepper. You wouldn't want to smell anything else in the surrounding, just glue to the wine glass. Palate matches the bouquet, layered, complex, creamy, opulent, rich, plush with excellent balance of fruits and acidity. Tannins are sweet, soft and extremely fine. Finish is long and expansive, cigar smoke, jam, plum and tobacco leaf. Simply marvelous!

This wine will keep developing more complexity and secondary nuances in the coming years or decades, and will become an outstanding elixir.
