Saturday, October 25, 2014 - The best showing yet for this fantastic effort. The nose absolutely explodes, with vibrant perfumes of red and black fruits, red floral and oak spice. Decanted for aeration at 10am and served at 8pm, this was completely in the zone and just as good or better on night 2. The bottle I opened last month just didn't see enough aeration prior to service, so if you want to see this wine's true potential, 10 hours in decanter is strongly advised. An absolute thing of beauty, with the type of structure and purity that haunts the mind. Drink thru 2030; 13,0% abv. highly recommended

Served double-blind, alongside 2000 Calon-Ségur, 2000 Opus One, 2000 Lynch-Bages, 2001 Verite Le Desir, this was WOTN by a landslide.
