Thursday, December 31, 2015 - Popped and poured at BYOB for New Year's. I think many times I do a wine a dis-service by not decanting in advance of the many BYOBs I go to in and around Philly, but not in this case. Dark purple plum in color with no sign of maturity. Lovely nose of plum, cherry and nice floral elements. Started out with a mostly fruity palate of cassis and cherry with some leather and earth. By the last glass fruit subsided and it became somewhat rough with lots of charcoal. I think if I give this wine 5 more years and a good decant it could become something special.
