Wednesday, April 11, 2018 - Straight out of bottle. Wonderfully open and complex nose with green herbs and pencil shavings on top, beef stock in the middle and cassis and tobacco on the bottom. The 35% merlot shows through with blueberry notes, not unlike a well defined Napa merlot. Sweet attack, full body but with elegant refreshing acidity. Very well integrated wood, taking into account that this has seen 80% new barrels. In the beginning of a 30 year long drinking window!
