94 Points

Sunday, July 15, 2018 - From a half bottle. Nice dark rubis-black colour with no bricking at the edges. Upon uncorking, quite present aromas of raspberries and blackberries. In the glass, discrete red and black fruit as well as cedar and more specifically, raspberries in cream. On the palate, wow! Frank attack with a core of concentrated fruit on the mid-palate. Lots of tannin, but polished. Very good length up to a minute of raspberries, cream and blackberries all surrounded by the tannin with a touch of graphite and black olive. Frankly, a very nice wine. After 15 minutes in a decanter, secondary aromas start to appear - leather and damp forest floor. The core of concentrated fruit is intoxicating et promises a good evolution for this wine. Today, I would give it 93-94 but this may improve to 95 with extra maturity. Very good today from a half bottle, but will likely improve for another 2 years and then hold a plateau for 12-15 years (H-B). Beautiful wine!

7/16/2018 8:09:00 AM - I understand. But I would try to hold off another few years or get a second one to taste when it is ripe. Regardless, from a half-bottle (which ripens faster), it is already really delicious!

9/19/2018 5:11:00 AM - It was pretty darn good.....had the opportunity to decant 3 hours and enjoy over 2-3 more! In a nice window right now, but probably not yet the fully mature wine a lot of BDX people on here love. Perfect for me!
