Tuesday, May 7, 2019 - Part of the 2000 bank holiday horizontal.
Decanted 1 hr. Very dark purple with not much sign of age. Just a classic nose of dark black fruits, cigar box and a hint of menthol or spearmint. Serious, grown up and savoury left bank claret but warmer, rounder and riper than both the Leoville Barton and the Montrose. Doesn't seem to be taking itself as seriously as the Barton and is sweeter and more playful than the Montrose. Of the three it is easily my favorite both for its outright deliciousness now and potential for future development. Interesting to note that the cellartracker scores agree.
