Thursday, October 9, 2008 - We opened this bottle for one of our now-famous "Steakhouse Nights". Alongside dry-aged Niman Ranch beef the wine showed beautifully. Dense, rich black fruit up-front with the typical damp leaves of Leoville-Poyferre, there was also a lilac-y sort of floral lift to the nose sending the wine to wonderful heights. Still has a tightly-wound core of tannins and will most certainly continue to drink beautifully for years to come.
