Saturday, July 18, 2020 - Commanderie Bastille Day dinner. Double decanted for 2 hours which was about right. Crimson, no sign of bricking, little bottle variation. Nose and firsts notes are of graphite. After a time, secondary notes of red fruits emerged. Shortish finish. This was a nice wine, but less complex and nuanced than I expected. A comfortable, classic St. Julien. Over time, it actually started to dissipate and so the last few sips after 4 hours were almost not there.
