Saturday, October 10, 2020 - Had a bottle a few months ago and it was so good I felt I needed to revisit to make sure this was consistent. Great news is that it is! Terrific Bordeaux really at its early prime. Primary fruit just fading to give way to truffle, liquorice and sous bois. It takes 2-3 hours in the decanter to show at its best now. I really love it and am surprised by how good it is. One of the best Bordeaux I have drunk over the last year actually. It is of course personal preference but this just strikes the right notes with me - aristocratic, polished, moderate alcohol, superb nose and nice acidity. While not cheap it's one of those that wines are actually very good value considering what deliver. Fantastic and then some. Bravo Leoville Poyferre for turning out this classic. Drink now with decant - 2050.
