Tuesday, January 22, 2008 - Garnet color with a clear rim. The color belies the ripe raspberry, rose water, and spice box. Clove, cinnamon and cardamom penetrated the rich raspberry while a firm acidity brought this home. What was remarkable about this wine was its balance. The fruit had mellowed, acid was in check and secondary notes were emerging. This seemed at peak and yet another example of what a good winemaker can do in a less than stellar vintage.
