Thursday, February 1, 2024 - Visit to Woodlands, Margaret River. I have read a lot about Woodlands, however overall this was quite a disssapointing visit, wines lacked any sort of drive; quite linear and weak in the mid-palate, and even though they were well made they all missed a little something. The Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon was probably the highlight, however at $229 AUD it was a hard pass. At $100 this would be an easy buy

Step up from the Cab Franc - Merlot blend, slightly better, dark black fruit, green bell pepper, mocha and cedar. Slightly rounder and more structured mid-palate, just falls fast
