Thursday, June 11, 2015 - Popped this bottle with a group of friends at Salta Argentine Parrilla. Cork was in perfect condition. Colour was garnet, and orange tinged. On the nose, there were distinct hints of raisins and dates, and interestingly, a very porty aroma. On the palate, very clean and delicate, almost pinot like, with hints of strawberries, cranberries, and raisins, and it had notes of orange peel and woody oak on the finish. Acidity was high; lively, citrus undertones. It kinda reminded me of Rebello Fragola Strawberry Tawny Port which I drank recently. This is a lighthearted wine, extremely easy going and smooth, but one thing it lacked - complexity. It paired ok with our steaks, though I felt quite saturated with the raisiny notes after a while.
