Saturday, January 6, 2024 - Bought a bottle for a NYE wine mixing activity. Blended small amounts with garnacha and syrah from same producer. Viognier is the winemaker’s wildcard. It doesn’t dilute the color of red wine at all. In fact, add some red wine to it and it takes the hue immediately. It adds richness, weight and fruit complexity.

On its own, a medium gold. Nose has peach, honey, white flower. Palate has same with acid, richness and alcohol. Without food even petrol and pineapple wine. But with food it stays within normal bounds. Longer finish but no complexity. Fun wine with a group and food. Could not do glasses on its own.
