Sunday, May 10, 2015 - Happy Mother's Day to me!
when first opened, this was quite rough. However, with 2 hours of air (that's how long it takes to get 2 kids to bed!), this wine has blossomed into a layer cake of earth, rhubarb and cedar. The nose is complicated by earth and fruit (equally prominent), but without any barnyard stink. It has good weight and texture, but some of the forest tones get a little prickly toward the end of the palate. Very nice, but not wow. Still glad I snagged 2 when I did.
