90 Points

Wednesday, April 2, 2014 - Horizontal blind tasting of 10 Bordeaux wines from the 2000 vintage tonight.
The Lynch Bages shows a wonderful Pauillac nose.
A bit shut down in the glass, but came along with time and swirling, giving of a quite developed profile with pencil lead, graphite, gravel, a touch of licorice, stable and some dry leather.
On the palate it follows the same pattern, quite shut down at first, but opening up.
Cassis and dark berries.
A bit thin on the fruit, with medium acidity, and a quite week and thin finish..
Overall a nice Pauillac, but to me nowhere near the 97 points that Parker has given it.
