Saturday, June 20, 2015 - i was going to splurge for Father's Day, but good fortune brought some wine drinking friends to the house the day before. We cooked up some filets (very nice) and had this. This is a great example of Bordeaux which I guess is why Lynch Bages is so valued by wine enthusiasts. Opened the bottle two hours before drinking, decanted using a vinum and could tell immediately that this was going to be a nice wine. The nose was deep with fruit, dried berries and a bit of earth. The first taste two hours later was smooth, tannins were soft, acid/fruit balance was great and the finish was long and satisfying, giving nice fruit to the end. I would think this wine will be superb for at least 10 more years, and may improve a bit. However it is a great wine right now.
