Friday, February 9, 2024 - 2/9/2024 - Tasting alongside the cheaper 2022 Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) Bolgheri Il Bruciato and 2021 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Le Volte Toscana. Immediately, I can tell this has a more pronounced scent with an ethereal depth and earthiness that reminded me of 2015 Rioja Alta Gran Reeserva 904 which I recently had and loved.

On the taste, very smooth, ethereal, deep, complex....very very nice. Not a concentrated intense wine...more of a light, elegant, ethereal wine. Fine smooth tannins. medium-low acidity. Very smooth. Hints of red fruit tartness. It could age for a while but so delicious right now. Very impressed. Would get again.

5/3/2024 - Tasting next to 2021 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Le Volte Toscana ($25). On it's own, the Le Volte is pleasant, tart cherries, and fresh acidity. But when I try the Le Serre Nuove, the Le Serre is noticeably more complex, aromatic, smoother, with a less fruity forward, more leathery aromatic taste.

Le Volte is a pleasant casual drink, but the Le Serre is cleaerly more worthy of deeper focus and concentration in appreciating it's nuance and depth...as it should considering the price difference!

Adjusting my 93 rating up to 94. The Le Volte is a 90.
