Monday, July 13, 2015 - The wine is clear with a medium intensity, ruby color.

Developing nose with a medium(+) intensity. Aromas of baked black fruit, baked plums, blackberry, violets, bay leaf, olives, cedar wood, leather, animal, smoked meat, bonfire and a hint of mint. Great complexity on the nose!

The wine is dry with a medium acidity, medium(+) body and tannins. Medium(+) intensity with flavors of blackberry, raspberry, baked plum, green olives, smoked meat, coffee beans and spice box. The finish is medium(+).

Unlike everyone else I haven't tasted Graillot's C-H more than once before. I really like this one which shows a lot of development but still with a foot left in it's youth. A great example of sunbaked, smoky, powerhouse Syrah. It's in a perfect phase for drinking right now and will probably stay there for another 2-3 years, at least.
