Sunday, May 31, 2020 - Root Day - Dark lemon in colour; cork cracked but stayed whole with little penetration of the wine (1/2 cm or so) showing on the bottom portion. Gorgeous nose of hay, white flowers, ripe tropical fruit (pineapple/mango) and a touch of lanolin. On the palate it’s rich and the texture is astonishing with citrus, pineapple, apple, lemon oil and spice. The finish is extremely long with the citrus, fruit and bright acidity along with minerality staying for well over a minute. This is just entering it’s plateau and I’m excited about the fruit and freshness it’s showing today.
