Monday, February 19, 2024 - New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Medium yellow. Promising aromas of tangerine and buttered popcorn. Lively attack with excellent interplay of the citrus fruit and wood lifted by excellent acidity. In the end, however, the wood takes over and dominates the finish in an unpleasant way. Aspects of this really reminded me of Mâconnais wines, although the quality of fruit is quite different.
