Sunday, September 20, 2015 - What a treat to taste the '78 Massolino Barolo. On the nose I found sweet raspberry fruit, hints of sherry and oxidation yet so focused, followed by cedar box and spice. Fragile, finessed and pure in it's layers of center-focused, dried red fruits on the palate. Fully mature yet still showing drive and verve--simply beautiful tonight.
