Friday, December 9, 2022 - Eugene's birthday: Was waiting for my first great GR experience after the disappointing 1995 in London and this delivered. Had such a brilliant, layered nose so we did a comparison of glasses. The Zalto had the most fruit-forward nose, the Kimura had the most floral one while the Sensory was in the middle. Think most preferred the Zalto but I liked the nose on the Sensory best as it was the most elegant and perfumed with dark plums, slight smoke and charcuterie. Palate reminded me of an old-school Bordeaux with sweet fruit, tobacco and a slight herbaceous note. I love wines that are perfectly poised and balanced and this was a great example.
