Wednesday, May 24, 2023 - Very balanced and elegant flavour profile. Lacking the depth and power to make it a truly great wine but very lovely.

Had it at a Bouchon restaurant in Lyon, the bottle was in very good nick. Beginning to evolve to the next stage and showing signs of tertiary development. Slightly brown at the edge although still has a lovely pure red. Notes of bacon fat, wet stone, dark fruits and some truffle dominate the nose. Body has a soft and supple acid that allows the soft tannin to provide a beautiful contrasting texture. A very long finish. Went very well with a pate en croute and calf's liver!

Drink now to 8+ years.
