Friday, October 2, 2009 - starts out with the black side of forest floor with a light espresso accent. the nose exudes a delicate sweet maize with light roasty notes and quite the expression of iron and granite. at 10 years in the tannins are still quite upfront with the slightest hints of integration under way. tim calls this a 20-25 yr wine. tasted along side the 1999 ridge monte bello, which was showing more evolved than the comtesse de lalande.
