92 Points

Friday, February 17, 2012 - Pop and pour. Nose of dark chocolate mocha, vanilla cream, orange chocolate, mint, terroir, coca cola. color of medium to tanslucent garnet to the rim with bold legs and seductive tears. Palate of earth, blood, vanilla cream, dark chocolate, spice, tart black and red fruit. Smooth tannins, medium to full mouth feel. Will allow wine to rest and open until dinner.

Well, this wine was stunning after 3 hours opened. Smoothed tannins, fruit silky and refined on the palate, subtle and succulent finish. If this is somewhat an off year than I can't wait to try the other vintages. Drank alongside an 89 Canon-la-Gaffelière which was absolutely stunning. They competed for WOTN and finished in a dead heat. Bump score to 92
