Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - Something of a revelation - at least in the context of 2007's warmth - as this was both fresh and full; probably just now entering peak, with room to run. A darker straw toward golden color, bright and clear. The nose, at first, was more soil than fruit, and it presented a fair amount of slate/petrol. The second glass, about an hour later, was pretty much the opposite, with fruit prevailing (if only slightly) over the soil notes. The acids are cheeky, the palate always flowing, almost whimsically, gently but with purpose. Opened by a friend that wished to introduce another friend to the wonders of the variety in the hands of a master. Sheer joy, and, as expected, excellent with food. Medium bodied, good extract, equally good lift, a mix of yellow and white fruits. Thru 2025; if drinking anytime soon, let it aerate in decanter for an hour. highly recommended
