Saturday, April 15, 2017 - needed long decant -- poured a glass night one and it was tight PnP with some aromas that made me think there was some VA. Decided to open something else. Night two, the nose on this shows boysenberry, baking chocolate, sage, herbs, dark flowers, and smoke. still very youthful despite being open for 24 hours. full bodied, this has generous velvety tannins, with a really elegant mouthfeel. the spice notes are more prominent on the palate and leading into a lovely long finish. a great wine, but give it time to open up as it is painfully youthful. glad I waited until night 2.
