Saturday, September 20, 2014 - HDH Auction (Restaurant Tru, Chicago, IL): Adrian's bottle. Selosse? Extra dosage? YES PLEASE! Like a light egg custard - finally someone said meringue and that nailed it. Sweet, creamy, minerals, bronze-wood, spicy, some vanilla and light citrus notes outlining the nose. Palate is stupid: opens with sweet creamy custard - light delicious and airy, and the middle to end of the palate, this aspect combines with some acid structure/citrus notes and chalky minerality to create a transcendent alloy. Really toe curling - that's how good it was. This combination continues into the finish: custard, chalk, lemon, meringue - delicious. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 6/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5-2/2 = 18-18.5/20.
