Friday, August 10, 2018 - Well our good friend's son Scott had his rehearsal dinner in my backyard with 70 people in attendance. So I opened two bottles of red wine for the 70 of them. (they also drank 17 bottle of assorted whites) One being the 2001 Mondavi Stags Leap in a 6.0L format and the other being the 2007 Anderson Conn Creek in a 6.0L format. Opened 2.5 hours in advance and poured through a vinturi in 8 decanters. The nose was dark fruit the, the palate was dark berries, red plums, charred meat, mocha and a hint of thyme on the finish which was moderate to long. A really nice wine at 17 years old.
