Tuesday, June 2, 2015 - A little editorial indulgence first : Reading many other notes, I get a strong feeling that many people have a conception of a vintage character going in and then find that in the wine. I know there are plenty of times I have that bias - we can't unlearn things we know that give order to our sensory perception. So in a way, I find myself a little lucky here that I have only the vaguest ideas of Bordeaux vintages. Ordered off a wine list because La Conseillante, 'nuff said.

In the same vein, perceptually I am going to 've biased to look for La C. Definitely there, though this is clearly not a great one (yet?) Good mossy wood and fougere on the nose. Really like it. Lovely soft fruit with a funky booty-laden core. A bit askew in the structure / fruit balance with the latter on top. A bit of coffee and healthy sweat on the finish.
