Sunday, March 10, 2013 - Decanted for 45 minutes. Very typical Copain JB, that is a tremendous push of dark fruits, camphor, blue flowers, and smoke that make an immediate and firm palate impression. Unlike my last bottle though in 2008, the fruit in the mid palate section seems to be in a bit of a rambunctious, adolescent phase, peeking out on some sips, hiding around the corner on the next. All the material seems present for a quality experience, as was this bottle, but I do suspect maybe a couple more years would level things out a tad, and deliver a more mature, complete wine. Very nice.
