Thursday, December 13, 2018 - We drank this with several courses at dinner with Didier Depond and it was simply stunning. Didier said it’s one of his favorite vintages and because its faster maturing it has now fully integrated and has just entered its drinking window. He believes it to be better than the ’96. Medium-bodied but lazor-like in its focus and complex intensity. The finish just rolls over the tongue with an incredible streak of really interesting mineral flavors and very fine bubbles. I couldn’t stop drinking it and it clearly proved Didier’s point regarding the time Salon needs as the younger vintages above showed nothing like this. Just entering its drinking window with at least 20 more years of development ahead. 96+
