Sunday, January 2, 2005 - I really like the Montose. It has aged superbly well, is balanced, and drinking fabulously now. I decanted the wine 30 minutes before serving. Out of the bottle, it was tasting good, but certainly opened up after 30 minutes and continued to evolve after an hour. Nose of dark fruit, subtle oak, and sweat tannins, dusty leather, tobacco and blend perfectly into a nice aged Bordeaux. If I were to find fault, it would be intensity of frut, this seemed somewhat diminished, and a slight metallic component in the nose and in the mouth. Medium length on the finish..
