Sunday, June 21, 2015 - Well, I wanted burgers and bordeaux for Father's Day. And, I got burgers and bordeaux for Father's Day. This is an absolute jewel of a wine, and, sadly our last. Paired perfectly with grilled hamburgers and fresh garden cabbage with lemon vinagrette, feta cheese, and currants. In short, not a hiccup with this one. No flaws. Mild to moderate sediment. Dark ruby garnet color. Amazing nose. European and old world. Dark fruits, dark flowers, classic bordeaux. All of the flavors to match. Low tannin and acid. Medium alcohol. Long, beautiful finish. Perfectly drinkable and certainly well within its window.
