Thursday, January 28, 2021 - Checking in on this 20 year old with braised short ribs and pappardelle, and it's still drinking well and a great pairing. Tannins are pretty integrated now, though now that I'm past dinner and standalone sipping, I'm getting a little grip. Bricking garnet color with transparency. Aromas of roses, tar, fennel, dry spices, black tea, and maple syrup. Medium (+) body, acid, and finish, with flavors of high toned red fruits, lemon, orange peel, spice, and minerals. This is a great wine, although I'm not quite as high on it as the last bottle 8 years ago.
