Sunday, April 27, 2008 - Decanted 1hr. As expected, big big wine here, and make no mistake as putting your nose in the glass indicated that we’re not to far away from Port territory. Very ripe prunes and raisins are nicely buffered by a powerful note of high end dark chocolate, a tint of orange peel and a nice gravelly, asphalt layered finish. Such a different experience from a standard red table wine, that while I wouldn’t want to drink this with great regularity, yet the break from the norm was a lot fun (I should mention there was a ton of sediment in this bottle).
