Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 14.1% alcohol. Broken cork so, by necessity, decanted. Dark cherry color. Pretty nose of dark cherry, blackberry, stems, and earth. In the mouth, this is showing a plush texture that has integrated quite a bit in the past year. The fruit is dark cherry, never without a stemmy note far from its side. Spice and earth notes mingle nicely with the pronounced acidity. The long finish is caressing and enjoyable. In a good place, but this will benefit more from further bottle age compared to the San Mateo. A-
