Friday, December 24, 2010 - The nose on this wine is extremely strange: horse sweat, barnyard, cheesy, mousy. I'm not sure if this bottle was tainted or not because after an hour the sweatiness died down and became more normal. The wine tasted good, if not a bit bland, with apples, chalky minerality, and lemon curd. The blandness died down and the taste became more pronounced at the tail-end of the bottle. We drank this within an hour and the bottle didn't even show up until the end. I highly recommend a minimum hour-long decant prior to drinking this, or you'll be disappointed. I can't score this any higher without a full-on decant.
